Welcome

I’m glad you’re visiting and appreciate your curiosity. If this website resonates with you, then please consider joining us. For now, let me introduce you to what we’re creating here together.

For the past twenty years, my vocation has been helping women embody their power, authenticity, and freedom. I’m not talking about striving toward a masculine form of power. On the contrary, my work is aimed at exposing how we exchange our inherent power for futile attempts at control.

This is not traditional psychotherapy. It’s more holistic and growth-oriented. The focus is on reducing suffering (rather than reducing symptoms). For that reason, this work is not appropriate for anyone seeking medically necessary therapy. Moreover, there’s an emphasis on the feminine—which has nothing to do with gender. (In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if a mixed-gender circle emerges alongside our longstanding women’s groups in the year ahead.)

The foundation for this work is Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)—a mindfulness-based approach to personal growth. I initially passed the teachings along in the same way I’d received them myself during postdoctoral training. Lately, material is interweaved from the feminist and wisdom traditions. Also, we gather in circles—whether over a few hours, days, months, or years.

Whether you live near or far, there’s a way to participate: special topic courses, advanced-level seminars, long-term circles, weekend group retreats, private solo retreats, individual psychotherapy, and/or one-on-one professional consultation. In each context, I play a different role: that of teacher, leader, guide, mentor, facilitator, counselor, advisor, and sometimes hostess. (In-person events take place at my home, Pastime Farm.)

If you want to get a sense of your fit for this work, then feel free to sample some video excerpts. If they resonate, then consider signing up for the introductory course. You can participate live (online in early Spring) or asynchronously (video recordings provided). The course serves as the necessary prerequisite to group gatherings—whether online or on land. It provides everyone with a conceptual foundation and a common language. This shared understanding allows us to explore advanced material in our small group gatherings (e.g., monthly seminars, daylong workshops, weekend retreats).

It’s my pleasure to host a community interested in the path of self-discovery. If you might want to join us, then please let us know. We’d be so glad to have your company.

Sincerely yours,
Kelly
